The Limestone House
2024 COBA TOUR OF HOMES | 2 AWARDS
The Limestone House
Some homes are built around a view. This one was built around stone.
Old-world limestone masonry runs through the interior of this Brasada Ranch home, handcrafted and carried to full height in the great room. Above it, oak barnwood beams reclaimed out of an old pickle factory, and free-of-heart solid timbers, frame the ceilings. Those two materials do the work here. The white oak floors, the arched entry doors, the patinaed metal hood over the range: all of it is finished to let the stone and the timber lead.
A climate-controlled wine room sits just off the entry, glass and black steel set against a stone back wall. Outside, copper flashing and gutters and a custom patinaed roof are weathering into the high desert the way they were meant to. A covered outdoor kitchen sits under timber posts and a copper roof. A paver terrace wraps a fire pit with a compass rose set into the stone.
Brasada Ranch is juniper country, wide and exposed. This home answers it with weight and warmth.
Every CNC home is custom, and this one shows what happens when the material palette is chosen early and held to.
